Tablets are very popular today, and have become big business. Not long ago, these devices, were only able to play sketchy sci-fi movies, but today much more is capable. You can take a look at five of the top Tablets that are on the market, for 2011.

Let’s start at number five,

In fifth place….

The Archos 10,1″ Internet tablet 101

This has the weight of 480g. It is a very light device. You will also notice that it has a big screen compared to other models. Another great feature, is the fact that it only costs $300, which is utterly amazing. It comes with a WebCam  USB, hdmi, card reader, uses the 2.2 android operating system, 3.0 is still on its way.

The only downside to this model, is the fact that the screen quality and build quality, may seem a little bit weak and this is important for a tablet.

In fourth place…

The MSI Windpad tablet

Many people, consider a tablet just a blown up smart phone, that has excessive apps. It seems like the The MSI Windpad Tablet wants to get away from the stereotype, by adding Windows 7. Using a 1.6 GHz atom, which is faster than some processes, it also sports a two gigs memory.

The pricetag is pretty high, at $500, it is still quite cheap compared to a PC. The good thing about this Tablet, is that it has attempted to buck the trend, although it is slightly bulky.

In third place…

The LG Optimus pad

This was introduced in summer of 2011, it has a nice thickness about it. It comes installed with the Android operating system honeycomb. It runs on the latest  Nvidia tegra chip, using a 32 GB storage. What sets this Tablet apart from others, is the quality of its screen.

The screen size is 8.9″ with a 1280×768 resolution, this makes the pixels dense. Another great feature, is its ability to work in 3-D, is not totally like the movies but it can still be used with the dodgy glasses. The price is steep though, at $900.

In fourth place…

The Apple iPad 2 Tablet

This is Apple second tablet for 2011, after introducing the first Tablet last year 2010. They have been the architects, of getting people to buy into a product, that was not previously thought about, as a necessity.

The iPad is powered by the mighty iOs. It is an improvement on the first iPad with increased speed. It also has two cameras front and back. The display is gorgeous with aluminium body. The price starts at $499 and can go as high as $849.

“So the drumroll”, and in first place…….

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10,1″ tablet

Just like the iPad this is Samsung Galaxy’s second Tablet. It comes in three different screen sizes. The smallest, is probably too small. The best value for money is 10,1″. The tablets thickness, is just as thin as the iPad, but it is slightly lighter, because of the cheaper materials that are used by the Koreans. You can expect to pick one up for a starting price of $500.

In all honesty, it is a tossup between the iPad and the Samsung Galaxy. Choosing one, is only a matter of which operating system you prefer. That being said, the Galaxy tab, has the better specifications in theory, and a competitive price.
